As you can see from the month-by-month breakdown below, Derek Jeter started off the season just fine. He was hitting a couple of home runs, knocking in RBI’s and hit for a good average. When Derek hit June, things went downhill from there. Hitting only .243 in June and .245 in July. Now, it seems like Derek is back to his old ways. He hasn’t hit any home runs this month, but he’s knocked in 9RBI’s and he’s hitting .295. His BA, OBP, SLG and OPS have all increased this month.

One of the things im disappointed with is doubles. As much as I would like to see him hit homeruns, i’ve noticed that he doesnt have those right center field gappers that would drive in runs and get himself in scoring position.
Also, didnt he have 30 sbs last year? Maybe hes playing injured?
another interesting stat… as of this point in the season Jeter has the most at bats and plate appearances in the league. I guess that makes sense for the leadoff man of the most productive hitting club.
That’s the problem with age- as you get older, your energy level and consistency drop to a lower level. You may still have good periods, but not as frequently.
Those numbers are somewhat misleading…if you are going to show them then you should also show beginning of the month and the ending of the month numbers as well to show a clearer picture of his awful season.
These are month-by-month statistics. Sorry if that bothers you.
Derek Jeter is 23-for-76 in his last 19 games. (hitting .303 over that span)
