News and Notes (Courtesy of MLB.com):
- Yankees left-hander Andy Pettitte has been nothing short of sensational this season, and the team continues to look forward to his return from a strained left groin. The All-Star is 11-2 with a 2.88 ERA in 18 starts this season. Currently, however, he’s down at the Yankees’ complex in Tampa, Fla. He’s been going through running and agility drills and told The Associated Press he is “feeling good.”
- Carmona doubled his win total from 2009 with his latest victory on Friday.
- The Indians will use Trevor Crowe as their primary leadoff hitter, now that Michael Brantley has been dispatched back to Triple-A Columbus. “Right now, [Crowe] will be there most of the time,” Acta said. “If things start to go south and we have to rearrange, [Asdrubal] Cabrera [currently batting second] could go back there.”
The game will take place at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. It’s slated to start at 7:05PM ET. The game is being televised on the YES Network. The game can also be heard on the radio on WCBS 880. Enjoy the game. Go Yankees!
