ESPN is reporting that Steinbrenner passed away this morning.
R.I.P. George M. Steinbrenner III “The Boss” (July 4, 1930-July 13, 2010)
“Winning is the most important thing in my life, after breathing. Breathing first, winning next.
“As I’ve always said, the way New Yorkers back us we have to produce for them.”
“I haven’t always done a good job, and I haven’t always been successful – but I know that I have tried.”
“I’m really 95 percent Mr. Rogers, and only 5 percent Oscar the Grouch.”
“Owning the Yankees is like owning the Mona Lisa.”
OMG. RIP :(
I can’t help myself. I keep breaking down. :'(
I broke down at work. Literally broke down in tears. I also wrote a fitting tribute to him in his honor @ work while in a meeting. I don’t care I’m sad!
“The Boss” is Dead, Long Live “The Boss”
The Greatest sports owner of the modern era, of any sport!!!
He brought Pride & Glory back to the Bronx and created Yankees Universe…now he belongs to The Ages!
More than ever, what he would most want is for us to continue our pace and raise our 28th trophy this fall.
God Bless George Michael Steinbrenner III
That’s two in three days. I hope for once the “It comes in threes” rule doesn’t hold.
