The Pitching:
Yesterday, A.J. Burnett had one of his “good days”, and completely dominated the Orioles lineup. He went eight strong innings, giving up only three hits and no runs. His final pitching line was: (W, 3-0) 8.0IP 3H 0R 0ER 1BB 4K (116 Pitches, 77 fror Strikes). As you can see from his line, the one walk he issued in the game really stands out. That’s definitely a good sign, considering he usually throws a couple a game.
Mariano Rivera wasn’t seen for a few days, and Girardi decided to bring him out of the pen in a non-save situation. I agreed with the move, and he posted up another scoreless frame to end the game. His 0.00ERA streak continues.
The Offense:
Robinson Cano is simply unstoppable right now. The guy hit two more home runs tonight, and hit a double as well. He went 3-for-4, picking up 3 runs and 2RBI’s. Robbie currently leads all of Major League Baseball with a .407AVG. He also stands in 3rd place in home runs, trailing Paul Konerko (10) and Kelly Johnson (9).
Marcus Thames continued his dominance against left-handed pitchers, as he went 3-for-3 on the game, picking up a walk and an RBI. Derek Jeter went 2-for-5 on the game. Nick Swisher went 0-for-5, and Curtis Granderson went 0-for-4.
Final Score: Yankees 4, Orioles 0
